Lawson represents public and private companies in high-stakes disputes, resolving matters at 94.5% full value in 15-30 days on average. In September 2025, Lawson blocked a CEO's attempt to invalidate $233,000 in vested equity and secured $1.14M for the client in 7 days. A month later, Lawson increased a severance offer by 190%—from $43,000 to $125,500—in 42 days.
Lawson graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2016 where he served as Managing Director of the Moot Court Honor Society and was a two-time National Quarterfinalist and Finalist at the Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition (2013-2014). After graduation, Lawson joined the international law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP before clerking for the Hon. Andrea Masley, in the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division in 2017.
At the Commercial Division, the "crown jewel" of the New York State court system, Lawson analyzed and drafted substantive decisions across complex business disputes including shareholder divorces, structured finance transactions, arbitration enforcement, and contract breaches. These matters involved sophisticated legal issues such as arbitrability, international forum-selection clauses, convertible bond mechanics, privilege determinations, and zoning-lot development rights. Several decisions were published and form part of New York commercial case law in matters with nine-figure exposure.
Whether advising corporate stakeholders or creative professionals, Lawson brings deep substantive experience drawn from a diverse client base that has included financial institutions, national restaurant chains, and entertainment icons Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
